Hello.

I've been capturing a tv show in mpeg2 pal. I've then been cutting the ads out and leaving as an mpeg2. Then I have been putting it through megui and converting it to 900kbps 2-pass x264 in an mp4 container.
It looks really nice and plays fine (besides quicktime).

But now I want to edit with these files in vegas. But when I try and open them in sony vegas it only detects it as audio and not video.

Would this be because of the mp4 container or because of the encoding? If its the container then should I change it to avi or mov? I tried changing the mp4 to a movie file in quicktime pro but it seems to freeze and quicktime can't play the file right anyway.
If I do need to change the container then what program do I use to do that and how do I?

thanks everyone!

your vegas doesnt seem to be able to decode h264. this has nothing to do with the container
