My footage is all from video games ( RGB )
1280x720 or 1920x0180 4000 FPS
a 10 seconds file is 100 GB +
using huffyuv 2.1.1 now but the file is only 14-20 GB and not ~50 GB as it should be
what is the best lossless codec for rgb ?
i just want true lossless, no conversions !
i have to render abaut 2-3 times before the final encode ...
any tips ?
cheers.

HuffYUV and Lagarith are your main options, but FFV1 supports RGB too (its much slower though).

k, will try lagarith also!
BTW vegas does a "blend" of frames, my footage at 4000 FPS is render'd at 40 FPS so i get 100 frames blend for one final frame.
can i do this with a lossless codec to save time ?

If you use lagarith, make sure you configure it to RGB! I've made files thinking they'd stay RGB but they got converted to YV12 because I didn't double check.

ok, will check.
hmm if i convert it to YV12 in lagarith ( final render before megui, in vegas ) than there would be no need to convert it in megui no ?

Depends what your final output is. Games use RGB. H.264 uses YV12, as does VC-1.

yes, my uncompressed/lossless RGB output from vegas gets converted in megui to YV12 ( avisynth script line "converttoyv12" )
thinking of doing the conversion in lagarith if it saves time/better quality and just scrap the "converttoyv12" from my avisynth script.
will it work/be faster/get better quality ?

The Lagarith file will be considerably smaller if you use YV12. :)
As a side note, I did a test with recording movies from Quake III Arena, and found that when using MJPEG, the movie seemed darker than when using uncompressed. The solution was rather easy. I added the following line to my AviSynth script:
Tweak(bright=40)
By all means change the level to something comparable, but as a side-by-side comparison, I found it worked for me. :D

will give it a try.
first render will be uncompressed via virtual dub than vegas for editing and frame blending than AE for effects
from AE lagarith with YV12 conversion and than final render megui MKV
i'm working with 1920x1080 at 400 FPS for normal action and 1600 for freelock's so the final 30 min file will be more than 1 TB uncompressed :|
I think i'm going to render 10 % at a time and mux all at the end.
thnx for the tips
cheers.
