I have a DVD9 that has 24 VTS series...
the MOVIE is only at #8
so i have TONS of useless files (blanked out via vobblanker) that i really don't need.
is there ANYWAY possible, i can just have my Video_TS folder that has this:
(assuming i have the video_ts, *.ifo & .bup)
VTS_01_0
VTS_01_1
VTS_01_2
VTS_01_3
VTS_01_4
etc
--------
instead of like 40 files...?

I see from some of your other posts that you have DVD Rebuilder. You can process movie and menu through this.

RipIt4Me has a Movie+menus mode (look under Ripping settings).

That will preserve the structure. The only way to tidy up the structure is in movie only mode or by deleting uncalled PGCs/VTSs (do not just go deleting the last VTS without being absolutely sure it is uncalled). This function is part of PgcEdit.
Remember, because a VTS is blanked, doesnt mean the navigation doesn't go there. Also remember, a blanked VTS takes up no room.
But do investigate the "Delete" functions of PgcEdit, accessible from the DVD menu.

it would be SO nice, to be able to use Ripit4Me to extract ONLY the movie, and then somehow IMPORT the menu :)
@ USB - preserves structure only...the other VTS series still come over, though blanked...already tried that method.
@ blutach - will attempt PGCEdit...will report back.
& thanks to both :)

You can author the movie from scratch with PgcEdit - but you need to know what you are doing. Take your rip and in PgcEdit start a new DVD. Import the titles domain, then the menus domain and then comes the hard part - twisting the VM commands around so they are right.
You can use PgcEdit functions like Jump to PGC on DVD insert on the ripped DVD and emulate it in the re-authored one by copying the commands to get things right at the main menu, but you'll need to go through all the rest of the PGCs, tracing all the buttons to see things are OK. It's not impossible but it's a bit finicky.
Thread moved to IFO/VOB Editors.
