Hi
I tried the Elecard Converter Studio Pro HD on some Bluray/HDDVD Sources.
Target is 1080p H264 ~10Mbps
But i dont know how to use the AQ Modes in Elecard H264 Encoder Options ?
Can somebody give me a Hint ?
Usualy i encode with x264 (patched Techhouse Builds ,new AQ) with AQ Strenght 0.5 .
So far i know the Elecard AQ Modes are working with negative Values and i made Tests with AQ in "Contrast Mode " -10
Looks good so far :)
And the Film Grain Option ? I use it at 4 and with 15-30 for Sources with much Grain

Film Grain Optimization
Optimizes CineVision’s treatment of source material with significant film grain content. Indicate the heaviness of film grain in the source material by entering a number from 0 (for material with no film grain, such as animation) to 100 (for material with heavy film grain).
Brightness AQ Strength
Specifies whether and how much to increase or decrease the quantization level for areas with extremes of brightness. Negative strengths yield a finer (lower) quantization, and consequently a higher quality, for bright areas. Positive strengths yield a finer (lower) quantization for dark areas.
Contrast AQ Strength
Specifies whether and how much to increase or decrease the quantization level for areas with extremes of contrast. Negative strengths yield a finer (lower) quantization, and consequently a higher quality, in areas with high levels of contrast. Positive strengths yield a finer (lower) quantization in areas with low levels of contrast.
Detail AQ Strength
Specifies whether and how much to increase or decrease the quantization level for areas with extremes of detail. Negative strengths yield a finer (lower) quantization, and consequently a higher quality, in areas with low levels of detail. Positive strengths yield a finer (lower) quantization in areas with high levels of detail.
IMO best setting for AQ are negative value for Detail (higher quality for flat area) and Positive value for Brightness (higher quality for dark area) and Contrast (help for banding).

yes..THX
But :
Which Mode should i use for different Sources, and what about the Values ?
Is AQ Complexity - 20 Ok ?
Can you give me Examples ? I think ist more or less simple and the choice depends on the Source.
High Detail Source = AQ Complexity/Detail with negative Values.
For very Dark Movies = Contrast/Brightness with positive Values
About Filmgrain :
Example 300 HDDVD/Bluray. I can set it up to 100 correct ? I think i will try 60-85 for heavy Grain and 1-4 for "all Day use" on some Noise
EDIT:
Alsi i have other Problems too.
When i load a avs i get significant lower encoding speed in 2nd pass. When i directly load the source i get 50% more fps. I made Tests without Filtering, only Directshowsource and cropping.
Also sometimes Elecard freeze etc etc very bugg.
Must be caused by Vists x64 SP1..
