Hi all,

Plugh pointed out another bug in Xvid-1.1.3 to me which is already fixed in CVS, but was never back-ported. This bug could make Xvid choose a "random" motion vector (MV) sometimes.

I uploaded updated builds to my homepage www.koepi.info, one "plain" Xvid-1.1.3 with the plugin- and MV-fix and a 1.1.3-VAQ-build with Dark Shikari's port of x264's variable adaptive quantization plus plugin- and MV-fix. You should use these builds now.

If you still link to my old koepi dot org-domain, please change the link to point to my new domain www.koepi.info. Thanks!

Cheers
Koepi

I'm guessing the bog does not affect 1.2.x then?

And thanks :)

No, in CVS the bug is fixed. 1.2.-127 = CVS head/main.

Cheers,

You can also try using http://koepi.leffe.dnsalias.com/ (same server, only different domain name).

I hope you can reach the page that way!

Damn the big firewall...

Hi, Koepi-san,

I would like to get patched source archive, or patches themselves.
Would you please make the source downloadable in ZIP or tgz, if available?

Thanks for your continuous effort.

Ah, the patch is only mentioned in my blog with a link I fear. Plugh has posted the 3-liner here: http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=993732#post993732

You can easily change those lines yourself. I don't have my laptop here with the sources and the development environment. If you look into the xvid program folder which gets created during installation (usually c:\program files\xvid), the chaned source files should be in there too.
I don't remember if I added that changed file with plugh's changes as the modification is so small and simple.

If that doesn't help you be so kind and be patient until I'm home again so I can create a modified installer with all the changes in them, if the file is missing.

Cheers

Cool. Thank you for quick reply. I will try. :thanks:

Unfortunately, I don't have Windows... So patched source archive is pretty welcome, if you could. (or, non-exe file is also fine.)

Sorry that it took so long, but I just returned home yesterday evening. Find the patched file here: http://www.koepi.info/motion_inlines.h.bz2

Then...Do you recomend me an updating from XviD-1.1.3 28062007 to Xvid-1.1.3-27042008 ? Or maybe I must uninstall first the older version? Thanks for your job.

It's always a good idea to uninstall the old version first, but it is not necessary. And upgrading is a good idea.
