Hi, I'm an Avisynth newbie and I've trawled around this forum for ages trying to work out what to do.. I have loads of 60hz material (from all sorts of sources, TV, DVD, HDDVD etc) and as a PAL user my graphics card and LCD are running at 50hz. Problem is that I get a very slight hitch once a second or so when playing back 60hz material - I'm guessing this is an artefact from ffdshow converting the framerate. So I'm wondering if there's a fairly simple Avisynth script I can paste into ffdshow, to smooth things out a little? Doesn't need to be cutting-edge... or am I being naive? Any help appreciated...

Cheers,
-Mat

It would probably be easier to change your refresh rate to 60hz.

But then my live tv stutters badly.. :( I guess a possibility would be to automatically change the refresh rate to match the source, but there's no way I know of to do that in Vista MCE..

try this (you'll need powerstrip installed & running):
