Is there a known way of being able to read VOB's straight off a DVD using DVD2AVI? I've seen the OPENDVD.DLL addon at doom9.org but haven't used it yet. On the software page it says to use for previewing only.?. The goal here is to create a .d2v project that references the encrypted VOB's from the DVD eg: F:\VIDEO_TS\... where F: is my DVDROM.

The only proggie I can see doing this is FlasK but that is God-awfull and unstable as shit. The process is DVD->FLASK->AVISYNTH->VDUB.

I'd like it to be DVD->DVD2AVI->AVISYTH->VDUB.

Anyone?!?

Sorry stuffed up.

The original process is DVD->VOBDEC->FLASK->AVISYNTH->VDUB

VOBDEC is needed to get the CSS key to feed into the CSS.MISM in FlasK.

Any help would be appreciated.

I would not recommend it. Encoding is slow, and reading while encode from DVD will shorten it's laser lifetime significantly. Also encoding itself will be slower because of slower reading from DVD.
