First, I'd like to say thanks to jdobbs for adding Menu Functionality to DVDRB in the Preview Section. That is a great feature when you want to keep the motion but reduce it's size.

For my question, is the Menu treated like an Extra for the "Steal Space" function and the "Half D1" function?

Cheers.

Menu's are treated the same as the VTS they belong to:

SpazzHH's response (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=788132#post788132) to similar question, followed by jdobbs' confirmation (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?p=788139#post788139). (I seem to recall this coming up more recently than these posts but these popped up first when I searched (http://forum.doom9.org/forumdisplay.php?f=75&nojs=1#goto_forumsearch)).

So if you are doing full disc and have a large menu (that you are retaining) in main movie VTS you'll probably want to tweak the compression on it using the preview window so as not to waste birate on it.

Or use MenuShrink (http://www.dvdr-digest.com/software/menushrink.html) beforehand.
