I am using DVD shrink & Nero 8. Movies burn to disk and when played in pc play fine. When played in any DVD player, movie plays for about 20 min. then goes back to menu. Some even skip back and forth to different chapters. I have read where some others were having similar problems and i have tried slowing the burn speed down to 8x and i have used 3 different brands of blank disk. Magnavox DVD+R, Memorex DVD+R, and SonyDVD+R.

And now you should try some decent media. Verbatim or Taiyo Yuden.

Tried the other media. Had the same problem. Downloaded Img burn & used it to burn insted of the nero 8. No more problems. Now Img burn works with all media. Think there is a problem with nero 8?

There are problems with all versions of Nero! ;)

@bryanw

Based on other postings to the Doom9 Forum, pointing to the identical problem (out of sequence chapters) when using NERO 8:

1) It is beyond belief that such an extremely critical flaw could have gone unnoticed by the NERO folks prior to release

2) Research on the 'Net discloses that (as has also been the case with previous releases of NERO), there are less-than-perfect/less-than-legitimate versions of NERO 8 "floating around"

The inquisition needs to stop now please. You are asking a member to either validate that he is honest or, on the other hand, to incriminate himself!

We have seen this (too) many times in your posts. Irrespective of your reasons to try to determine whether Nero has a fully tested product, the effect is as I have stated above.

Many people here, including me, are not happy with this style of questioning. A member should not have to proclaim he is honest, nor should he be forced to coyly admit he is a pirate.

So, enough of this line of questioning.

Next time rule 16 will come into play.

@blutach

My apologies but, there is/was no inquisition intended.

Perhaps I should have omitted the question and simply advised "bryanw" of the information noted in my points 1) and 2)...

Again my apologies for leading you to believe there was an ulterior motive involved. I'd just hate like heck to see yet more questions posted regarding the apparent chaptering problem, if in fact, the problem is not being caused by legitimate versions of the program - I've got to believe that you and the other Mods would share this sentiment.

I will now edit my previous post as I've proposed. Hopefully you'll find this to be satisfactory.

Advising members and guests that you have observed that illegal copies of programs or DVDs exhibit erratic behaviour is fine. Asking people if they have such software or DVDs is not.
