Unix distribution for stream player (CF card)

Hi,

i have this hw configuration:
mb with int. cpu: Intel Little Valley 2 BLKD201GLY2A - SiS 662
ram: 1GB/533
hdd: 1GB CF card connected via ide adapter
graphic card: to PCI, Sap Radeon 7000 64MB PCI DDR, TVout, DVI-I

I search for some easy, fast and suitable unix distrubution (+ player) for CF card which is intended for redirecting video/audio signal from rtsp:// source to Tv-out.

simply put: i need to make the convertor from rtsp source to tv-out (composite), no x11 environment is required, but i`m afraid, that is required for player

Perhaps you don't need X11, at least with mplayer -vo vesa (http://www.mplayerhq.hu/DOCS/HTML/en/vesa.html)
