Can anyone suggest some decent capturing devices for component video? I currently have a simple USB capture device known as DVDXpress. This uses the old three audio/video cables, but the software itself isn't capable of recording in high-definition or widescreen. Normally this wouldn't be a problem, but I recently got a widescreen TV. My old USB capture device isn't capable of recording at the resolution and quality my widescreen can display, and I think that it's about time I got a capture device a little more up-to-date. Something with component video perhaps, and maybe with multiple audio/video or component outputs and inputs so I can easily connect my consoles to it in high-definition and have them connected to the new widescreen.
I hope I explained this all well-enough, and if not, just tell me what needs a bit more clarification. ^^; I'm a bit bad with explanations sometimes. Regardless, I was wondering if anyone knew of any good capture devices to help with what I want here...

The first consumer level device to do HD capture over component is about to be released from Hauppauge. No one has actually used it yet, but some of us are very excited about it (I've already got one on order!).
More details here (http://www.hauppauge.com/site/products/data_hd_pvr.html).

I'm so tempted, I've got two HR20 Direct receivers, that have already filled up several times.

If anyone has this device could you check something for me?
On the site it says it has "audio / Video component video loop through to allow HD recording and viewing at the same time" when you use this however, does the box add any delay to the video (like a dvd recorder does)? Im asking this because if i want to record off a games console the input delay would make it impossible to do it. Thanks

Blackmagic Intensity Pro can capture HD (1280x720 or 1920x1080i) over component.

I see that it's available at Amazon (http://www.amazon.com/Hauppauge-1212-Definition-Personal-Recorder/dp/B0018LX0DY/ref=pd_bbs_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1211995967&sr=8-1), of course it has:
Usually ships within 2 to 3 weeks
So, I'm assuming no one has actually got one in their hands yet.

It has started shipping and reports are just beginning to pop up in various places. Mine should be here tomorrow. ;)
If you want to order it, go directly to the Hauppauge page, it should be faster than Amazon.

Did you get it? If you did, how it's going?

I did, and it's working pretty well. It's a bit kludgey, but there is nothing else out there that does the same things.
