Not Enough Space on Disk to Burn Image

After using DVDRB Pro, HC enc, bypass and ISO and go right to burn, I got a message with ImgBrn that "There doesn't appear to be enough space on the disk to burn the image."

Disk Size: 4482 MB

I used Preview to set up the video and set the feature to maximum size within the limit, and then because this is a Chinese language DVD and I remove all Chinese in Settings, I unchecked the "X"s blocking the audio. As I did this after I set things up in Preview, would this be the problem?

I would have restored the audio before Preview but I forgot.

You have suspected correctly. You must uncheck the unwanted audio streams BEFORE doing the preparation/preview. As it stood, your desired stream strips were ignored.

Set it up again, X out the unwanted streams and click prepare.

OK. I tried to burn it anyway on an RW disk in the meantime and the disk did in fact run out of room. I was curious if it would make it as it was only 5MB oversize according to ImgBrn before the burn.

Another curious thing is that according to DVD Shrink, the Chinese Audio Stream I restored after Preview in DVDRB is 155MB. Yet ImgBrn said the overrun would only be 5MB.

Why is that? Does DVDRB leave a 150 MB "cushion?"

DVD-RB normally leaves about a 50MB cushion. But encoders can sometimes be less than accurate. Also, I noticed you used the editor. If you remove anything via the editor, you have to remember to reallocate the saved space. Normally you would select "Allocate saved space to Feature" from the ACTION menu.

I cannot find anything labeled "Allocate saved space to Feature" or an "Action menu." Please advise.

I typically use the editor on every project I encode. I usually use it to Blank some things and also to adjust the Item Reduction to reallocate space from the menu and extras to the main feature. When I'm done with that I click the button "Save and Exit." I thought that was all that was required prior to going directly to Encoding-Rebuilding.
