What version of PowerDVD are you using? I would make sure that if you're using 7.3 that you upgrade to build 3730a if you haven't already. This is a profile 1.1 title and those weren't well supported before 3730 came out. They "worked" if you were lucky, but, not well. I was able to play Hitman perfectly in 3730a. I haven't tried it since I got 8 but I'm quite sure it'll play there, as well.

Ohhh, that's not good. It's picking up the DD track instead of the main movie track which is DTS-HD. The DD track is the commentary. This isn't a good thing. You'll want to look into why it's not properly decoding the DTS-HD track.

That's bizarre. Are you using S/PDIF output? If so, that could be the issue. I believe there's an option to down mix the audio if you're using S/PDIF in the PowerDVD configuration. Make sure that's selected. Otherwise, yea, it'll try to use what it can decode over S/PDIF which would be the DD track. I'm GUESSING that's the issue.

What do you mean by "standard 5.1 set up" exactly? Are you using analog out to a receiver or speakers? In that case you should set PowerDVD up to 8 channel audio and set your speaker configuration up in Windows to 5.1. That'll work quite nicely. When I do that, I always get the HD audio tracks automatically selected.

It's possible. I honestly don't know what's going on with your set up. Sorry I can't give you more advice, I just really don't have a clue. It's working superbly on my set up. I'm using the built in Realtek HD audio on my motherboard to do 5.1 analog out to my receiver and the sound is absolutely amazing. PowerDVD correctly chooses the best audio track on all my discs. I'm using PowerDVD 8 right now, but, 7.3 had no problems with this configuration either.

thanks for trying to help samuri..... it seems to be a problem wit hitman, the description audio track is the first main track on the disc structure and the main english audio is after it in the structure

On top of that, you're definitely going to have to give lots more information than that if you want your problem fixed. How are you ripping? What software and versions are involved? What software and version are you using to play it back, etc, etc.

I've run into the same problem, muxing to blu-ray with TSMuxer then creating an .iso with ImgBurn seemed to solve the issue. For some reason when attempting to play the .ts or .m2ts directly in PowerDVD, the english audio track (only if its DTS-HD or TrueHD) will not be selected and you cannot switch to it.
