Hi I am fairly new to encoding I have been experimenting with x264 and xvid4. I am using Avidemux, I can't find info on a couple of things relating to avidemux xvid4 second pass options hoping somebody could shed some light on it. I am using two pass average bitrate (bitrate currently 2435 - giving about 43% compression on my video files). My settings are fairly quick so I can give some more time to enhance quality.
The options I am confused about are
I-frame % ___
I-frames closer than ... frames ___
... are reduced by (%) ___
Max overflow improvement (%) ___
Max Overflow Degradation (%) ___
Curve Compression
High Bitrate scenes (%) ___
Low Bitrate scenes (%) ___
Overflow control strength (%) ___
NB ___ = blank field.
I am using MPEG quantization and I, P , B frames are at 2-31 with trellis quantization selected.
Have I provided enough info for someone to assist me ?

Generally, you can just ignore all the options you named. Check out the xvid presets sticky (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=119399) for full preset specifications.

Grab Crusty's Xvid FAQ from here (http://www.geocities.com/atreya2011/Xvid-FAQ-Crusty-04-03-2004.pdf) and fast forward to page 27.

Sorry, I meant that the options not listed in the presets thread are probably better off ignored, unless you want to know what they do for academic interest.
