Ac3/spdif Faq?

Well the title says it all I suppose. Is it me or are you people seeing tons of AC3/SPDIF related questions constantly? I'm wondering if we might need an AC3 FAQ page that explains what filters to use, etc. Also, perhaps we could have the most common question in the forum answerd in regards to Interleaving.

I'd more than happy to contribute to the project. If not a FAQ should it be a How-To?

should be a live q&a as in some of the other forums.. and I can't contribute anything.. while my 2boxes have spdif out.. I can't even use it.. I don't have the necessary cables... and the only available receiver is at my parent's place and about 30+ cable meters away from the pc I have there

I have the software and hardware with the general know how. I could start working on a draft and perhaps have someone else proofread it before I submit it.

Anyone else want to contribute? IMO this will save alot of redundant questions in the audio forum and should be pretty helpful.

This would be very helpfull. I have spent a lot of time searching around, often not finding the answers I need re spdif output, SB Live cards, Win XP and 2000. Collecting info and putting it here will be a good service.

Yep, it would certainly cut down the number of AC3 related posts IMO. Unfortunately I just found out that I'm traveling on business for the next 2-3 weeks so time is limited.

In regards to your SB, you should really check out the Home Theater forum (http://www.avsforum.com/avs-vb/) and do your searches there. There are a ton of issues with the SB and SPDIF. These guys have the answers you just need to dig.
