Hi

As you must have understood from the title of this thread, my problem is that I don't know how to add subtitles to a video, without encoding it.
I have a video file (.avi) which is already encoded in divx format and I also have the .srt file with the subtitles for this movie. I want to embed the subtitles, but without having to re-encode the video, since it's already encoded. Unfortunately, all the ways of embeding subtitles to a video file that I know include re-encoding the video file. Can you please help me?

Thanks

use AVIAddXSub to mux srt subtitles into divx file , it works great for my PS3, and it should work for other hardware divx players as well

Will this work on DivX certified DVD players which are not DivX Ultra?

A lot of players which are not DivX Ultra certified support partially DivX Media Format, so they can't play menus or chapters, but they support multiple audio streams and XSUB subtitle streams embedded in the file.

Torm, have you tried Sub2DivX?

No I didn't. AVIAddXSub worked fine for me. I will give Sub2DivX a try though.
Thanks

AVIAddXSub works very well too. Both tools are great!

Did you test your files in a standalone player?

No I haven't tried it in a stand alone player. Only on my PC.
