View Full Version : RI4Me Sees SPTI Layer But Says "No disc in drive"

Sometimes, usually with some older scratched up discs, RipIt4Me says "SPTI layer available" but "No disc in drive."

What is the SPTI layer--and if it sees that, why does it think there is no disc in the drive?

You've been a member since 2004 - Isn't it about time you made the extra effort to do a Googlesearch before posting questions?

You're mixing apples and oranges:SPTI is a small programSPTI (SCSI Pass-Through Interface). This is used by many burning applications...

The fact that your older scratched discs (and based on your posts, you have many of them) can't be read by RipIt4me (and, likely, most other similar programs, as well as Windows) has nothing to do with the "SPTI layer" (or the older "ASPI layer")...

@seatrip_old

Might I remind you about rule 4.

Nothing unkind in what I posted.

You have but to re-read many of the previous posts by "TomBrooklyn" that both you and I (and others) have responded to realize that it's just a friendly observation...

I disagree. Please make such observations in a more respectful manner or risk a R4 strike. Now, enough of this.
