I have a DVD Video of a slideshow that was created for my wedding. Can anyone tell me how to join PGC's? I'm trying to convert this to mp4 but I can't rip using DVD Decrypter in IFO mode because of the multiple PGC's. Thanks.
Here is the PGC list:
DVD: "C:/Personal/Videos/Wedding Slidshow"

You can make a "play all" title with PgcEdit's Play All plugin. This should join everything.
Or manually, add the cells in PGC2 to PGC 1.

I created the "play all" title but DVD Decrypter is still recognizing 2 PGC's. How do I manually add the cells in PGC2 to PGC1?

You can not have more than 99 PTT/PG per PGC...this is why two PGCs are used in your case.
You can have 255 cell pointers but you will not be able to navigate using prev/next.

Go to PGC 1 and (sadly, you'll need to do this 42 times), create new cells with the exact VCIDs in PGC2.

Any idea how I can fix this? I guess the editing program made a new chapter for each picture slide. I just want to be able to convert the entire slideshow to mp4. Thanks.

@bigotti5 - There can be 999 chapters max per title but only 99 per one-sequential PGC title. The title is not one-seq. But the maximum programs per PGC must be 99 anyway, so I guess PGC 1 is limited to 99 chapters out of 141 anyway.
@rack04 - you will need to play around with your chapters if you want them all in a one-seq PGC. The chapter editor in PgcEdit can help you.

I have a hard time understanding why the chapters are in place because you can't skip or fastforward/rewind when the DVD is playing. I'll see what the chapter editor has. I tried using the title->ptt (chapter) editor but it did nothing.

@blutach
A single PGC can never hold more than 99 chapter/programs
I just want to be able to convert the entire slideshow to mp4
if it is for mp4 you should follow blutachs advice in post # 5
but you must not create PTT/PG, just cells only.

Can you please elaborate? How do I create new cells and how do I find out the VCIDs in PGC2? Thanks.

First, go to PGC2 and print out Info - PGC. This will give you the VCIDs in PGC 2.
Then double click on PGC 1, and click on Create New Cell. Untick "Create new program and chapter". In the area where it says Pick an existing VOB/Cell ID, enter the first one of PGC 2 by using the sliders. Click Create cell and repeat 41 more times. Save.
Or if you have DVD Remake Pro (http://www.dimadsoft.com/dvdremakepro/index.php), you can copy PGC 2 and append it to PGC 1 in one step (very simple).

Alright I did as you suggested. Viewing the DVD with MPC HC it appears to be correct but I still cannot fastforward or rewind. When I convert to mp4 using MeGUI the picture slides move with a 1-2 sec delay instead of the 5-6 sec delay. Audio stays at original speed.
Here is the updated pgc1. It was too large to post so I'll have to attach it.

The PGC looks fine. Check for VOB Puops. After chapter 99, since many players have Next = Next chapter, it won't work.
Slideshows can be finicky in relation to fast forward/back - check that the time maps have been rebuilt properly. Worst comes to the worst demux and remux with muxman (I know it can fast forward slideshows).

How would I go about joining pgc1 and pgc2 with DVD Remake Pro?

Hi!I'm trying to convert this to mp4 but I can't rip using DVD Decrypter in IFO mode because of the multiple PGC's.To avoid the "maximum 99 chapters per PGC" problem, make multiple (I believe you're actually only talking about two PGCs) .MP4s and then use YAMB to join the .MP4s

@rack04
Open the project in DVDRMP. Position cursor on PGC 2. Ctrl-C. Position cursor on PGC 1. Right click - append copied PGC. Export.

The append copied PGC is greyed out on PGC1.

Make sure the Ctrl-C is done properly on PGC 2. If necessary, right click - Copy PGC.

Yep. Still greyed out. Do you think it has something to do with the 99 cells as discussed earlier?

It's greyed out because maximum number of programs (99) has been reached. To use append, first delete any program except the first one in PGC1, then delete all programs except the first one in PGC2, then Copy PGC2 and Append will be enabled for PGC1. Modify any cell to have a program up to the max limit of 99. Modify the chapter to refer to these programs as well.

@spyhawk, @rack04Modify the chapter to refer to these programs as well.I'm guessing, from the initial post, that this is not feasible, since each chapter repesents a different image in a slideshow.
That's why I suggested the following (since "rack04" stated the desire to ultimately convert these PGCs to .MP4):To avoid the "maximum 99 chapters per PGC" problem, make multiple (I believe you're actually only talking about two PGCs) .MP4s and then use YAMB to join the .MP4s

I suppose MP4 don't care about chapters. In this case, might as well delete all the program and chapter references except the first one in each PGC and append PGC2 to PGC1. Then convert to MP4.

When I try this method the resulting avs file moves through the slides way too quickly, though the audio is on time. I don't know what times the slide transition but after I create the d2v it moves way too quickly.
For example:
DVD Decrypter shows that PGC1 is 08:15
Playing the avs file with MPC it shows 01:41
Demuxed audio shows 08:15
This is my avs script:
DGDecode_mpeg2source("E:\My Documents\My Videos\test\pgc1\VTS_01_1.d2v",info=3)
ColorMatrix(hints=true)
Spline36Resize(640,464)

A slideshow is composed of still images and audio. The same single frame is played for a certain duration, but is not physically repeated in the VOB. The problem is that most encoders assume that you are encoding a standard video file, with 25 or 30 frames per second. I'm not sure there is a solution to this problem, but anyway, you will not solve it by joining the PGCs together. Try another encoder, or use an hand-made avisynth script.

Thanks for the info. Now to figure out an avs script.
