View Full Version : Intro's to movies playing multiple times (in different languages too)

Hello everyone, I'm having a problem encoding movies lately. About a year ago I got into using AutoGK and encoded several movies quite fine with it, to use with my Archos portable media player. I ran out of HDD space on my computer so I stopped using it.

I bought a 500gb HDD and started back up again.

But now recently I've had this problem, where intro's to movies such as all six of the Star Wars movies play multiple times, and in multiple languages. I've uploaded a short video to youtube to demonstrate this problem.

Why is this happening? What can I do to prevent this? I think what is happening when I load up the IFO file from the ripped DVD on my hard drive, it presents me with 3 angles, this happens no matter which angle I choose.

That's the only reason I can think of that's going on, but how can I force it to choose only one angle?

This happens on my Witchblade anime DVD's that I've been ripping as well (only there is no text so it just plays the audio twice, but alternating like in the star wars vid). I like to have the intro and exit movies play, but as it is now, it's impossible to add because it's just so incredibly annoying, and also increases the length and thus file size to have this happen.

Can anyone help out? Thanks in advance. By the way I am using AutoGK version 2.27 because version 2.45 will not work at all for me, not sure why but it doesn't. =/

Hi!Why is this happening?Because you are dealing with what are known as multi-angle DVDs.

Use either good ol' DVD Decrypter v.3.5.4 in "IFO" mode (or SmartRippper) to select the appropriate PGC...

Thanks for the reply setarip_old, I will try the IFO mode in DVD Decrypter. Which is what I use, version 3.5.4.0.

Again, thank you for the helpful post, I will report back with my results. :)

Worked like a charm. Not only did it fix the stuttering, now my audio syncs up and I don't have to re-sync it with Virtual Dub afterward. :)

Now my only concern is if I want to re-encode all my Star Wars movies. Probably won't, at least not for a while. Takes me about 4 hours to do one. (Single core processor.)

Thanks. :)
