Hi,

i capture movies from tv, encode them to mpeg2 and author them to a dvd. When i watch these DVDs in VLC after seeking the audio vanishs. (Pause/Resume also don't work.). In the message log of VLC the message "main warning: received buffer in the future" appears (thousands of times).

I use HCEnc to encode the video to Mpeg2, aften to encode the audio to 96 Kbps 48 KHz ac3 and DVDStyler to author the dvd.
I assume something screwed the timestamps... Any ideas?

thanks, phXql

Hi!encode the audio to 96 Kbps 48 KHz ac3

Have you tried increasing from 96Kbps to 192Kbps?

128 kbps already works, the message "buffer in the future" appears, but the sound won't stop.
But i don't want to encode it with more than 96 kbps. Increasing bitrate is just a workaround, and i want to know the source of the problem.

But thanks anyway :)

The multiplexer is responsible for writing the timestamps in the vob-file, isn't it? I'm using mplex to multiplex.

Increasing bitrate is just a workaroundActually, I believe that regarding .AC3, bitrate minimums are critical...
