So I having a bit of an issue removing DRM from Rhapsody tracks. Below is the versions of everything that I have.
XP Pro SP2
Rhapsody 4.0 (configured to download WMA files)
WM 11.0.5721.5230
IBX 11.0.6000.6324
drmdbg 12.25.2007 and 1.1.2008
When I go through the process of running drmdbg, it finds the IBX key and then launches WM. I click on the MultiScan button the following errors happen.
ReadProcessMemory_error
WriteProcessMemory_error
I also do not get the expected drm2.key file. I'm guessing that it has to do with the above errors.
My question to everyone.
1) Is there anyway I can force IBX to upgrade to 11.0.6000.7000?
2) Is there a version of drmdbg that is compatible with 11.0.6000.6324?
3) Am I SOL since I'm using Rhaposdy?
4) What else am I missing?
I really appreciate it.

Fairuse4wm with mirakagi.exe will work for IBX before 6000.7000 Don't upgrade if you can avoid it!

Unfortunately mirakagi and FairUse4Wm don't work for me. I have 6000.6324 and I get the following when I run mirakagi.
Cannot locate encrypted code chunks.
If I can somehow get around this that would be great.
Thanks.

I have a similar problem, I was successfully using drmdbg with 11.0.6000.7000 until I bought a Vista PC now drmdbg tells me I have 11.0.6000.6324 and I can't upgrade to 11.0.6000.7000 despite individualization and fresh Napster install. Fairuse/Mirakagi doesn't work for me either with this IBX. Will post if I find a solution!

From what I can gather from other sources this may be related to vista service pack 1 installation. However I have uninstalled it and it makes no difference.

I have DRM version 11.0.6000.6324 too and I can't get DRMDBG to work either. I recently made a fresh install of Vista Ultimate with SP1 preinstalled so I assume that has something to do with it according to the last post. I can't upgrade to 6000.7000 via the DRM component upgrade site and FairUse/Mirakagi gives me the "Cannot locate encrypted code chunks" error. This is gay. Do I have to revert to using Tunebite again?

Even with WMP 10, the drm is set to ver 6324 w/ rhapsody. If you have rhapsody mirakagi will no longer work. I know the origina of the problem, but unfortunatly have no idea how to fix it or even what to start with.

i just installed sp 1 while disconnected from the internet.
While I had to reinstall Vista Loader again to keep Vista activated, my drm remained unaffected (11.6000.7000).
If I run Rhapsody, at what would it try to upgrade my drm, is it when I buy something from the store or what? I think it probably tells you your DRM needs to be upgraded.
On a related note, WMP gets changed to match sp 1 (11.0.6001.700), which works a little differently with drmdbg (you have to right click and go to properties followed by license information tab).
Edit: this only appears to work on drmdbg 11/6, and only when the file is first played/added to the library. However, the old technique of right clicking on the file in the library and choosing find album info seems to now work on Vista but only with drmdbg 11/6. I have no idea why 11/6 appears to be the best version of drmdbg to use with any version of WMP.
