Hi. I've just used IFOedit and VOBedit to take the commercials out of a DVD recording I made with a standalone Philips DVD recorder, so I have my nicely-trimmed VOBs (2 of them) all ready to go.

I've burned them onto a DVD as a data disk and all looks and sounds fine, but will they play as one title seamlessly? Also, how should I burn them onto a disk so that my machines recognise them as a DVD video rather than a data disk?

I have Sonic (Roxio) MyDVD Plus bundled with my laptop which I normally use to make DVDs from other format video files, complete with simple menu.

Apologies for my newbieness...

Smart.

Use IMGBurn. Video DVD's and Data DVD's are different because the files are in a certain order for your DVD player to find.

Thanks, Southstorm - looks like another great piece of software not to be without!

The same question I asked myself today as well and I already took IMGBURN (because I know and love it since a longer time, great peace of software). But this time I took it to burn a DVD (Video) and it worked. I was just asking if it would work but it did. And there was no setting in IMGBURN where I needed to select that it is a Video DVD. So I think the only difference is, that the files are in particular order but infact it is a Data DVD as well.

IMGBurn can detect automatically by the type of files you're feeding it.
