I've tried to make a back up copy of Les Choristes Region 2 PAL format dvd. (I own this dvd and it is not a bootleg or pirated copy). The dvd is a dual disc and subtitled. I've used Dvddecrypter and dvd shrink to try and re-author it so that the main movie fits on one dvd-r and the extras fit onto a seperate dvd-r. Yet I think because of the PAL formatting the burnt discs do not play on a stand alone dvd player. If someone could instruct me on how to successfully copy this dvd, meaning taking off the region code protection (which I think I've done correctly using decrypter but I'm not sure) and converting to NTSC while keeping the subtitles. I'd really appreciate the help. This has proven to be a frustrating first attempt at burning a dvd. Thanks.

Do a "PAL to NTSC" search. What you want to do is possible, but extremely time consuming, and the results are not always stellar. You can always just purchase a cheap DVD player that plays PAL dvd's and save yourself a lot of time.

My advice, berrywoo, is to buy the R1 NTSC version:

What you want can be done, and fairly easily if you know what you're doing and don't care about keeping the menus. If you don't know what you're doing, though, as Southstorm says, it can be a very difficult project. Or maybe take Southstorm's advice and buy yourself a cheap Chinese DVD player that can play PAL DVDs. Would you like to see what's involved? Here, read this:

And welcome to the forum.
