HI, Just burnt my first DVD backup with DVD fab decrypter, DVD shrink and Nero 8. Film title is "RUN FAT BOY RUN". This is a legitimate copy of the DVD as released in the UK this last month. NOT a PIRATE or Screener. Your help is appreciated.

The process appeared to be good, with both the decrypting, shrink and burn processes running ok. The DVD plays on the computer ok with all menus working fine. But when I try to play it on a DVD player it comes up with an error messgae.

I have tried to reburn at a slower speed x8 rather than max. But the issue is still there.
I have burnt straight copies of previously backed up film to test with nero 8 on its own and the copy plays fine on the DVD player. So I assume it is a set up issue. But cannot find anything which may fix it.

Any advice?

Hi!Film title is "RUN FAT BOY RUN".
Any advice?Considering that this movie is first appearing in theaters, you might want to RE-read the "Announcement" at the top of the "Newbies" sub-forum, as well as all of the Forum Rules (particularly #6) - especially since any member providing assistance here might also be "struck"...

Its released on DVD now and was prior to mothers day in the UK.

I would suggest that you check your facts before accusing anyone of breaking the law.
As with everyone else on this site I only wish to creat a back up on an original DVD I purchased in case my kids damage the original.
Can you clarify why this could result in both myself and others being struck if I own the original disc.

My apologies, for that's a real oddity.
That movie is just being released this week in the US but (after further research on my part), was released in the UK almost a year ago in theaters - and on DVD on February 18th.

Odd, indeed...

Hopefully, a member who has access to the Region 2 DVD will be able to offer you guidance regarding making a playable backup copy and dealing with special/newer copy protection, if any...

No problems, I do not think it is a region issue as the disc decrypts and shrinks ok. Is there any smple points on set up I need to check?
