i am looking to apply dark shikari's aq patch to the current build 798 of x264. i've never done a patch before.

1. Download the source code as usual from git.

2. patch -p1 <patchfilename.diff

3. Compile as usual.

If you just need a patched Windows build, you can download jarod/bobor's from the end of the Current Patches thread in the MPEG-4 AVC forums.
