My goal is to backup my HD-DVD/Blueray library onto DVD9 media. I have little concern about the format (MKV, MP4, WMD) but I do want the video to be 720p and audio to be AC3 5.1.
My current workflow looks like this:
- eac3to to demux the video to MKV and audio to AC3
- nero recode (version 8) to recode & resize (1080p) to 720p @ a bitrate that will fit on DVD9 (I have to rename the MKV file to AVI in order for recode to import the video)
What I end up with is a M4P file and an AC3. I'm not sure how to merge the two back together. And also, Recode fiddles with the FPS which, I imagine, will cause sync issues.
So, my questions:
- How to merge mp4 & ac3 together (eventually with subs & chapters)
- How do configure Nero Recode to not change the video's FPS
- How to rip Subs from EVO files? I know this can be with EvoDemux but I don't know how.
- How to conserve the chapter marks within the EVO
- Does resizing 1080p content to 720p have an adverse effect on the image quality? My screen is only 720p and @ the lower resolutions will allow me to have a higher bitrate on DVD9 media
I have read through a lot of pages to try and find these questions. If they are on here I can't find them. I wish there were a HD-DVD/Blueray guide on the main page. Hopefully soon...
Thanks.:)
