I don't know about CloneDVD 2 (I use AnyDVD with DVD-Decrypter and DVD-Rebuilder), but if it creates ISO files, then you can use Daemon Tools to mount them from the hard drive.

Actually, I think it is too bad that CloneDVD2 doesn't get more
exposure on this forum. It never seems to be recommended as a
tool to use. I bought it because it is promoted on the Slysoft
web site. I have used it quite a bit and I find it to be a wonderful
tool. Some of its advantages:
1) It has a really easy-to-use-and-understand interface.
2) It effortlessly handles the backing up of the latest DVD's
that people complain about backing up on various forums.
3) It lets you remove some annoying parts of a DVD (like say, the
legal warnings) from your backup copy while still keeping the
menu system intact.
4) Cutting out a clip from a DVD is really dead simple -- it only
takes a few clicks (just so long as the clip is one or more chapters
in a title, not a menu item).
4) It works with AnyDVD, and so avoids the annoyance of having
to turn AnyDVD off and on.

Most DVD Player Software can play files from a HD. Usually you just need to load the 'VIDEO_TS.IFO' file to play it. Or if you saved the movie as an ISO open it with VLC player and you won't have to mount it first.
