there is a reason why the most common x264 gui encoders doesn't output iso ?

most of the DVD encoding tools include a iso output, and I want to know if there is a reason like the opensource tools doesn't support UDF 2.5 or it's just lack of interest ?

now that we have bluray output we can go one step farther.. iso.

I'd say the biggest reason is modularity. There are already open source tools to take a directory of files and create an ISO. So there's really no need to include it in the encoding GUI.

True, it would make the process more streamline, but then again, there are a bazillion different things one might do to an encoding. Better to have a separate component that specializes in one thing, and then mix and match as you desire. At least that's been Unix's philosophy.

I don't mean include that in the encoder (that's really a stupid idea.. ), but in the tools.

Like ripbot, automkv, mkv2vob, megui.. they are all doing more than simply offer a gui for x264.

The question is there a program opensource or free that can generate a iso by command line compatible UDF 2.5 ?

is the answer is yes.. do it can be include in the "One click solution"

The answer is yes. For linux, there's mkisofs. For Windows, try a google search -- I'm sure there are tons. For putting it in one package, well, some of these GUIs are open source, you can always hack it in yourself. If you're not a hacker, then you're out of luck.

Hi!The question is there a program opensource or free that can generate a iso by command line compatible UDF 2.5?I believe you'll find that (freeware) IMGBurn v.2.4.0 is capable of doing that...

Not using HD yet but StaxRip has many advanced features like 'Preparers', 'Event Commands', 'Macros' etc. that allow you to configure the application to handle unknown input and output formats.
