I used to correct syncing problems with SubtitleEdit. I synced visually. Corrected the timing on the first quotes, the last ones and voila, the app. did the rest.
Now I only use HD movies, the vast majority are .mkv containers in different flavors and frame rates. The problem lies in the latter. The subtitles I can lay my hands come are often with a different frame rate than the movie.
For .mkv. files and softcoded subs I use now Aegissub. But I can't use the same solution as in SubtitleEdit, simply because Aegissub doesn't work like that. and SubtitleEdit can't handle .mkv files.
So is there any solution to sync any sub to the framerate of a given movie?
I used the export function of Aegissub to change the framerate, but that doesn't change the timings.
And then I have a second one. Some HD movies come as MPEG2 transport streams (ts). I've got basically he same problem with syncing there.
help is appreciated,
