Hello everyone. This seems to be unique...

Here's my problem. The movie is Enchanted, used AnyDVD 6.3.1.7 in
the background with CloneDVD 2.9.1.5 as the ripper. I then process with
PgcEdit 8.5 to jump to where I want when played. Because I find PgcEdit to be
a bit confusing beyond that I use DvdReMake Pro 3.6.3 to further remove parts of a DVD.
I'll often check DvdReMake Pro's output with PgcEdit once done with DvdReMake because
it doesn't do the same kind of checks as PgcEdit. Usually this works well.

Then I re-encoded with DVD Rebuilder 1.27.2 using HCEnc 0.22, Full Backup, Steal Space
From Extras (10%), Multiple Encoder, Enable Menu Encoding, Keep Closed Captioning, all
of which usually works.

This time it didn't so after some test runs I decided to bypass HCEnc all
together & just use Encoder: No Compression. Also, no pre-processing with PgcEdit nor
DvdReMake Pro.

The problem remains.

Original directory size: 7.13GB.
DVD-RB No Compression Processing: 6.55GB.

PgcEdit, after the 1st time I used DVD-RB with HCEnc, come up with this
error:

Warning in VMG_TT_SRPT!
The Titles 1 and 2 are assigned to the same PGC (VTS 1, PGC 1.)
This strange authoring might be illegal, but it's not sure.

Since Title 2 is not the last one in the table, PgcEdit cannot remove it.

If you want, you should remove it with IfoEdit.
You will have to verify that is is not caled with Info -> Find Jump to Nowhere.
If there are jumps to Title 2, replace them with jumps to Title 1.

...Which also created a bad time map that has to be rebuilt apon exit of PgcEdit.

With the error above from PgcEdit, once the scan process is done, PgcEdit reports that:
"PgcEdit has detected errors in the time map tables of 4 VTS.
The bad time maps will be rebuilt when you save the DVD."

If you want the log for PgcEdit I'll post it, though it is long which is why I didn't
yet. I had run into something like this with the 2 And a Half Men Season 2 Disk 1 but
if this can be fixed then I'll try it on that project as well.

When I compaire the original Enchaned to the No Compression version in
DvdReMake Pro, I see the VGM Titles are different.

Original:
VMG title 1: Title Set 1: Title: 1
VMG title 2: Title Set 2: Title: 1
VGM title 3: Title Set 3: Title: 1
...
...
VGM title 61: 17 1
VGM title 62: 17 2

No Compression:
VMG title 1: Title Set 1: Title: 1

You have any ideas?

This is obviously an advanced protection method where multiple titles are assigned to the same PGC (this sort of protection was reported before on, IIRC, Rush Hour 3, R1). However, this is not going to be your problem, since the encoder runs on referenced VCIDs and not PGCs.

The fact that after DVDRMP, you have a difference in no-compression is puzzling. DVDRMP always eliminates unreferenced material.

I'd upgrade your AnyDVD and rip it again and do no preprocessing at all.

Strip the streams and blank the segments you wanna blank in DVDRB. You can always do PgcEdit's Jump to PGC at the end.

The time map errors are irrelevant - they probably belong to dummy titles. Anyway, DVDRB rebuilds the time maps at the end, so you can ignore this warning by PgcEdit.

Hi!

Try ripping this Disney release with RipIt4Me, instead of the AnyDVD/CloneDVD combination...

BTW - The most recent version of AnyDVD appears to be v.4.0.0

When I compaire the original Enchaned to the No Compression version in

And this is a clue. There may be a fake titleset that your ripper has not eliminated, but DVDRB has (saving 500Mb in the process).

Thanks for the reply. The No Compression was done from the source that AnyDVD & CloneDVD 2 produced then straight to DVD-RB. I was confirming with this method as a last option. Blanking from DVD-RB? Okay, clearly I've missed something in the updates. I'll check into that. I shall try the suggestions, thanks a lot guys.

See the segment editor/previewer to blank segments and adjust bitrates to your heart's content.
