you are a lucky person.

just install the decoder you need. Don't fill your hard drive with coder and decoder that will for sure contrast each other.

analyze your video clips with gspot or avinaptic and install only the required decoders

I means that some program has hijacked the access permissions on that registry key (and maybe other keys as well), which prevents your administrator account from accessing it.

You could just click 'ignore'. Then the installation will continue and install everything successfully. But it would be better to fix the problem.

To fix the permissions on a registry key you should take these steps:
1) Open the registry editor: Start > Run > regedit.exe
2) Navigate to the key that has the error
3) Right-click on the key and select 'Permissions'
4) Select the 'Administrators' group and set 'Full Control' to 'Allow'

Btw, the latest version of that pack is 3.8.0.

Thanks for all the advice, I think I'll forget about the codec pack and just install the one I need, much appreciated
