I just finished another nice rip with the latest DVD2SVCD build and (as always :) ) forgot to setup different output directories on different HDs for the more I/O consuming processes (muxing, cutting, submuxing, image creation).
It would be nice if you could specify a second default output folder, that should be placed on another physical harddrive, and DVD2SVCD should then automatically choose the "right" output folder, so that no reading and writing on the same drive occurs.

Good idea, I'll see what can be done.

Any news on this?

I finally have another fast new drive so I'd like to setup dvd2svcd this way too.

How do you set it manually now?

Hmmm. The "." sounds to me that you think it's a dumb question?

Lemme explain. I finally got my second fast harddrive thats big enough to store some data. I have 7 DVD's waiting to backed up and suddenly i thought of a post i saw some time ago (it was on january the 13th i know now..) so i thought to do a quick scan on the forum just before starting a new rip. This was the only sensible post that i found but unluckily there was no explanation what the best setup is for two disks so that no reading and writing on the same drive occurs.

So i quickly posted a question if anyone uses a setup like this. Maybe i could have written some more lines to show that i did look in the Q&A before posting etc.. But hey i wanted to get that rip starting :)

I still think this is a handy feature. Done automaticly or manually. It can save some time i guess becasuse a lot of reading and writing is done in the process. I can imagine why this hasn't priority for dvd2svcd so maybe it's a good addon for the Q&A...?

I think chainsaw just wants to watch this thread, and be notified of any new posts, hence the "."
