View Full Version : wrong file size?

i've been using xvid and agk for a LONG time now; only recently started to encode from mpeg2 directly.

agk is giving me wrong file sizes. most of caps are cartoon; after cutting out the comms i load the resulted mpeg2 into agk and proceed to encode to 100megs (each episode is like 10-12minutes).

the xvid that comes out is always under or over the target filesize.

97.5 or 104.6 etc etc...never the target size.

does anyone know why this keeps happening? even using vdub like i always do has resulted in off-target sized files.

could it be the mpeg2 file? i never had this problem when i would cap directly to mjpeg and use avs and vdub to encode. and i used the same version of agk for about a year and only just updated to 2.48b when i noticed this problem.

thanks for any help.
