Hello all. I have been going out of my mind trying to do this and I hope that where I have failed others may succeed, so please direct any of your ideas and solutions in this matter my way.
Ok, so I have an .avi file which requires subs. Simple enough so I thought. The subs must be in Polish and this is where I'm hitting a wall (for those of you who don't know this the language has a lot of odd looking accents for different letters). The problem is that I have finally found a version of the subs that works with the .avi without syncing problems, unfortunately some of the characters are unrecognizable which makes this whole thing pointless. I have managed to edit the .txt file with office and change all the weird characters to correct ones. Re-saved it and when I open the .txt file everything is great... Until I try to play the movie with the subs. I have tried numerous programs and they all change most of those characters back to unrecognizable ones.
How do I deal with this problem? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
