View Full Version : I can't find the subs on my disk.

I'm new at adding subs to an encode and its been going too easily until now. I've been DVDDecrypting episodes off a DVD of tv shows. Then I use megui to generate the idx file and mvkmerge to mux them.

Everything works perfectly until I got to a disk with just two episodes. The first worked great. The second episode allows me to generate an idx file, but mkvmerge generates an error:
"The input file 'inputfile' does not contain any tracks"
and will not allow me to add the subtitles' file. Upon further inspection this idx file seems to have no timecodes in it and I do not think the subs are in there.

DVDDecrypter has this episode in two locations...Track 2, which is the one I have been trying to use, and Track 7 where you can watch both episodes nonstop. I can see the subs in both of these tracks if I watch the DVD in VLC.

I'm guessing that the subs for episode two are in track 7, but if so how do I get those out and sync them up to track two before muxing. Furthermore why did it work for Track 1 which seems to have the same circumstances?

Sorry if this answer exists already and I missed it, please point me in the correct direction. I couldn't think of too many things to search for.
