Am I right in saying that if you encode a 16.9 dvd and play it back on 4:3 it will play with the right aspect with black bars.
playing it on a wide screen tv it will fill the screen with the right aspect.
It's only when the dvd is Anamorphic that you run into trouble and you have to select 4:3 or 16:9 depending on which tv you have.
Because old svcd's that I have done like Toy Story (pal) play correct on both types of Tv.
