I have been away from the scene a long time and am just getting back into it. I stumbled upon besweet which was a very nice suprise as their didn't use to be vob --> mp3 tools out there that I knew of. Anyhow, I went ahead and got my audio that way, and video through mpeg2avi, but when I went to multiplex it I realized you can only multiplex with wav audio in virtual dub? is this correct, and if so will virtual dub support mp3 multiplexing in the future?

You could use nandub, which supports mp3's.

thanks! I had never tried multiplexing using mp3 with either, so this is nice to know.

If you want to use VirtualDub, you can (if your mp3 stream is Constant Bit Rate), by using the MP3WAV tool (you get it on the DOOM9 download page).
It creates a WAV file with the mp3 stream "packed" in it and Vdub can work with.

BeSweet can also add wave header to the mp3 internally.
in the GUI, simply choose Wave-MP3 output instead of MP3 output.
