Until recently I have not had any problems with ISO's coming in under the 4.3/4.4 Gig limit needed to burn. I am now getting ones that are at around 4.6 Gig, which makes them about 4.9 gig total size.

I am not using CCE as my encoder, I'm using HC (newest version that came with the full install of RB Pro). This just stared with a couple of different discs I've been trying to convert. They had multiple languages, but that's not been a problem in the past.Here's my settings in DVD Rebuilder;

Steal Space from Extra features: 00% (Discs have no extras)
One Click Mode: Checked
Backup Mode: Full
Multiple Encoder Processes: Checked (dual core)
Standard Target Size: DVD-5

HC Settings:
Quality: Normal
VBR Setting: 65 (has not been changed from before)
One Pass CQ VBR: Checked

Any help is appreciated on this. I've been going nuts trying to figure out what the cause of this might be. And here's the weird part of it all, SOME discs will compress fine, others won't. No change in settings at all. Just the discs I'm trying to compress.

Thanks.

For one thing: You need to turn off redistribution if you use CQ VBR. Not sure what the impact will be -- but at the very least it is a waste of time.

With that said, let me repeat what I've said on mulitple other occasions: When you choose to use CQ VBR, you are taking a chance that the source might undersize or oversize. It's just a fact. You are making a prediction based upon a limited sample in order to try and save some time -- and the downside is that there is a lack of accuracy.

If you are oversizing in CQ mode -- it means that the CQ value used is too low. I'll take a look at the code and see if there have been any changes recently that might affect the CQ chosen...

Also a VBR Bias of 65 is very high. The further you get up that scale the closer you are to CBR. I really don't think it matters if you're using CQ, but I don't know that for a fact -- try setting it lower and see if your results improve.
