View Full Version : Procedure before thinking about using RB Opt

I really need to get my head around RB Opt, but before I do, can you please have a glance at my process for using DVD RB

Rip to hd using AnyDVD, clear out unwanted streams etc using VOBBlanker (always leaving menu), build .iso file using Image Burn, mount using Daemon Tools and then on to DVD RB.
Output from DVD RB to .iso and then burn using Image Burn.

Clearly, I don't want to work with RB Opt if there is some flaw (real or potential) with the above procedure.

Cheers

Hint: Everything between rip and burn can be done with DVDRB :)

Skip the rip with AnyDVD if you don't need VOBBlanker and you'll save some time. Just use ImgBurn to create the ISO directly from the DVD. AnyDVD is a driver and will do the decryption while ImgBurn is running.

Once again, thanks.
I will need to find out how to use AnyDVD with Image Burn and a link would be useful.
As a final request about this, I have Nero installed but I find that the Show Time DVD Player sometimes plays up and is a little temperamental.
A suggestion or two about alternative players would round this off nicely.

Cheers

@auldyin

AnyDVD interfaces transparently with your DVD drive(s), so you don't actually have to do anything with it (apart from the run the program, of course). The new version of ImgBurn (2.4) makes it easy to select the proper mode on startup. Just pick "Create image file from disc" if you want to rip a disc, or pick "Write image file to disc" when you want to burn.

In sum:
1. Put DVD to be ripped in drive.
2. Run AnyDVD if it isn't already running (red fox icon is systray)
3. Run ImgBurn v2.4, and at the first screen, pick "Create image file from disc"
4. Press the big button in ImgBurn that shows a disc pointing to a file icon (with a disc in it). It's the BIG button, whose tooltip reads "Read"
