Have I made a mistake?

Having ripped a disc and set RB-Pro up to use:
HC for redistribution:
CCE for encoding,
I changed my mind after the Prepare Phase and decided to use HC for Encoding.

RB-Pro would not allow me to do this. (I cannot remember the error statement).

Is this normal?

If I remember correctly, using different encoders will create a different file in the prepare phase.

Just restart the project over.

The prepare phase builds a lot of information that is specific to the encoder. Examples include format of the ECL file, the presented colorspace, and many other sets of information. If you change encoders, you have to perform the PREPARE again.
