Can I Rip Blue-Ray Disc w/ Standard DVD Drive?

This may sound out there for most of you, but has anyone heard of a ripper that rips Blue-Ray disc using a regular DVD drive? A friend of mine is searching for something like this.

I told him it was pointless because of the loss of HD quality. Go figure. :rolleyes:

Normal dvd drives use red lasers. Blu ray drives use, you guessed it, blue lasers. Totally different wave lengths.
