View Full Version : Getting errors with one series of DVD's

I'm trying to compress a series of DVD's for some friends that have kids (1 being all of 3) and am getting a couple of weird errors at the end of each disc rebuild. The errors are the same, but the numbers are different each time.

The errors I get are;

DVD Rebuilder experienced an error inserting (2147484692.2867) SCR. [00:42:04] 00021 00006

I click OK then I get;

DVD Rebuilder experienced an error attempting to write NAVPACK. [06:48:45] 00051 00006

The last one may or may not repeat, the only difference is that the numbers in the bracket change, and the first set of 5 after it changes. This does it for all 4 discs of the series.

These are Cambodian made region 1 DVD's. They are of a TV series that they watch and are set up in chapters, but one VOB set (IE VOB_01).

I'm using HC as my compression program, and this is the first time I've seen these errors. I'm up to version 1.27.1 of DVD Rebuilder.

Any help is appreciated.

That means that DVD-RB has encountered an unusually high value for the System Clock Reference (SCR) -- which should normally never happen. Looks like bad authoring but I'll check it out.

That kind of what I was thinking (bad or weird discs). Even though they are silvers, they are probably made via some quick authoring/pressing method since they are Cambodian discs. My friends have a TON of Karaoke discs that they say that can't copy either, and most of them are silvers as well. Probably just shoddy manufacturing.

Any sugesstions on what else to try to compress these down. Their all over the 7.5 gig mark, and DVDShrink can do it (at 55% compression), but the results look horrid on the TV they have (45" plasma). Ones I've helped them with via DVD Rebuilder look a hell of a lot better.

Thanks again!

I'll put a workaround of some kind in the next release.

Sweet.. Got the new version, and the SCR errors are gone!!!

But the NAVPACK errors are still there. Still not too sure why, but it's ok, figured out hot to break them down into 2 discs since the put 12 episodes per disc. Pretty tightly packed, compressed and the lot.

Thanks again for the help and a great product to boot!!!

I'll look at the NAVPACK section. I made the assumption (obviously incorrectly) that the second error was caused by the first.

Would it be helpful if I posted the log from the session?

Not necessary. The error message tells me where to look.
