This generally speeds things up a little, but when the last segment is reached, having NOSMP selected only uses a single core on multi core systems. If the segment is long, this can extend overall encoding time.

Any way round this?


And a 2nd, very very tiny point. I find myself looking to tick or untick Enable Menu Encoding on the Mode menu. Somehow, it feels right there (underneath Backup mode?). Should it be moved?

The problem is that you don't know at the time you're creating the HC.INI which of the segments is going to take the longest (and should have SMP enabled). I guess you could make some assumptions based upon frame count.

I can move menus anywhere you'd like.

Maybe we can have a hidden option for SMP?

Leave it to you regarding the menu items - I just felt it fitted better there. Others may have different opinions.
