I was given a DVD612S today and have managed to hack in mp3 playback via a remote control code. But to really get any use out of this player I need it to be region free. Most methods involve buying a €30 remote control that will be used once but there is also a way using IrDA on a laptop.
I found this on an old page (http://web.archive.org/web/20040605164551/http://reijndert.homelinux.com/otherways.htm) but while I was able to get the software, I can't get the buttonfile needed. Seems everyone who found it just linked back to the page and now it's dead.
Does anyone here still have this file somewhere?
