Hello,
I want to extract the background image from an existing dvd menu inside a dvd (VOB, BUP, ...).
Is that possible ?

Just load the menu file into MPC, pause on any frame that contains the image you desire, take a snapshot using the built-in snapshot feature, and Viola!
Note, this will give you a image that looks exactly like the menu, including buttons. If you want to remove these, you will have to remove these by hand in Photoshop.

With DVD files on your HDD load into PGCEdit, highlight the menu you want, press ctrl+p to preview the pgc playback, slide to where you want to take a snapshot and hit the BMP button. It will be free from button overlays.

VirtualDubMod can also take a snapshot without the button overlays.
