View Full Version : Problem with HDTVtoMPEG

Hello all, I'm not sure where to post this exactly, so I will post this here.

I am trying to convert 1080i .ts files with AAC audio into MPEG-2 files. I have tried multiple programs, but it seems none are capable of recognizing the AAC audio in MPEG2/AAC .ts files. The only program I can (kind of) get to work is HDTVtoMPEG2, in that if the .ts file has AC3 audio, it will load the file, but will only output the video portion of the file with no audio. If I try and load a file with AAC audio into HDTVtoMPEG2, it will only output a 2.00kb file.
I can play the original .ts files just fine using either VLC or MPC.

The programs I have tried are VideoReDo, multiple versions of HDTVtoMPEG2 (1.10.3 through 1.11.86), projectX, dgMPGdec, tsconverter, and PVAstrumento. The only program that even loads the .ts files without crashing out of all of those is HDTVtoMPEG2 version 1.10.3. I am using windows vista with the latest patches. Could the problem be that these .ts streams came from a ISDB-T format, instead of ATSC?

Thank you for your help =)

Try Donald Graft's (Neuron2) DGIndex (http://forum.doom9.org/showthread.php?t=129510)

I had tried the older version before (149) and it didn't work, but it seems 150 works now. Thanks!

One other question though, I like to use vdubmod since I am familiar with it, but vdubmod does not accept aac audio files. I have now tried a lot of programs to convert AAC to Mp3 or WAV, but all of them (about 7 different programs so far) have all failed. Any perticular good program for this out there? Some I have tried include foobar2000, itunes, av2wav, aac2mp3, belight, x audio converter, and daudiok.....

Or is there another program out there similar to vdumbod that can mux the m2v and aac files? (preferably with GUI, I am not so great with text based programs)

I found a program posted at the Hydrogen Audio forum:
http://www.tinymp4.com/index-en.html

I have no aac files to test.
