Convert softsubs to hardsubs without demuxing first?

Greetings all, I'm now the proud owner of an iPod touch.

I have a lot of softsubbed video I want to put on the thing, and I'm trying to streamline the process. When converting the subs from soft to hard, it's annoying to have to demux the before applying the Textsub filter. Is there some way I can skip that step, and apply the subs in an mkv via avisynth without demuxing them first?

Change "Autoload VSFilter" in Haali Media Splitter's settings to "Yes" and next time you use DirectShowSource they should load. Providing that your DirectShow isn't somehow b0rked and don't use some other splitter...
