ok guys, from what I have read this seems to be a problem, however no one seems to know how to fix it.

I just purchased a Lite-on Blu-Ray ROM and everything works. 2 problems though.

1: the screen is not full size, there is about a 2 inch gap around the entire screen, this stinks. not why I bought a bluray player

2: Hardware acceleration will be enabled when I open powerdvd but as soon as a movie starts playing, it will be disabled and the option is greyed out. Also playback is choppy.

I am assuming these two problems are related, please help I want to watch a movie tonight lol.

Oh, also display drivers are up to date

With a little more tinkering around i switched my computers resolution from 1920x1080 to 1280x720 and it seems to work fine. The Movies look great at 720p, but this kinda stinks, I really want 1080, from my viewing distance there is a definite difference, anyone have any ideas? contacting cyberlink as well, I'll post resolution if I find it before someone else does.

isnt the down scaling of the res to do with HDCP? i may be wrong though.

no, it's different than that, I already have ATI correcting that, but even when i remove that, it is still not full screen. trying a different version of powerDVD right now and we shall see

What is your full system specs?

ATI HD 2600 Pro
AMD X2 64 3200+
2gb ram

Regardless, I figured it out, The BD edition would not play in 1080 for me, so I went to 720 and it worked fine. PowerDVD ultra solved the problem completely with their latest update, playing great in 1080 now.
