i need to compress an AC3 5.1ch 448kbps 48khz track to a smaller file.actual size is 305mb,target size is 230mb, so i suppose the bitrate should be around 344kbps for the target track.wich codec and wich settings to have best result keeping the six original channels?

is a 6channels 340kbps AC3 track as good as a 6channels 340kbps AAC track is?

Well the aac should keep more quality on that bitrate, because AC3 6ch @ 384kbs is minimum for most footage
