Hi

Is there any way of configuring the external subtitle appearance when I use autogk?
I have KungFu series in DVD and the text is very small. When I try to encode to watch it on my Palm (320x320 pixels) original subtitles get even smaller (unreadable in some cases). So I decided to OCR them and then use a program to convert the chapters with the external sub instead of the original.
AutoGK does this OK, but VobSub creates a very thick shadowed subtitle so it's not the best option. Can I adjust any settings? Or should I switch to GK?

Thx!

I don't think you can change font size from within autogk, but you could try,

Try using ssa, you can then pick any font size. Try programs like "SRTtoSSA" or "Convert Srt To Ssa".

Or you could change back to a sup file using "txttosup", this gives you options to change font size.

You may want try different fonts, until you find one that looks good on the small screen.

Thanks for the tip!

Actually I'm worried about the shadow that VobSub puts under the font. The size of the shadow is optimized for big screen and the whole title+shadow makes a horrible block of letters instead of a light text. I think that if I reduce the size of the letter I'll get a reduced version of this block, unreadable and ugly :P

Oh, I should pay attention. To get rid of the shadow effect open "DirectVobSub Configure" and deselect shadow in the text settings. That should work.
I also just noticed vobsub does let you change font size as well, just click on the button in the text settings section, just be aware that if you increase font size to much the subs will not fit onto the screen will not fit on the screen.

Your help is really much appreciated!
I'll play with it a bit and see what can I do.
